1. To create an inclusive environment which acknowledges and respects children from diverse family and cultural backgrounds-where all children feel a sense of belonging.
2. We aim to provide quality education and care with a meaningful child centred, play based curriculum which nurtures, encourages and enhance the strengths of each child.
· We will honour the dual heritage of Aotearoa in accordance with Te Tiriti O Waitangi to acknowledge and empower children and their Whanau. We will use Te Reo Maori (Language) regularly, respect Tikanga Maori (Customs Protocols) and provide the children with experiences around natural resources. We believe in recognising the Multiculturalism within our centre.
· Developing a Team Culture- We value open, positive, respectful relationships within the centre that empowers teamwork and shared leadership which utilises individual strength.
· We believe children learn best from play, having time to explore their interests, in meaningful relationships with people, places and things. We value curriculum which is responsive to the identity, language and culture of all learner and respond to children with diverse strength and needs, and those of different ages. Our teaching is child-initiated and curriculum form of how teachers plan our programme to combine it with the interests that the children show on a daily basis.
· Teachers will value both children and parents/Whanau aspirations as we foster a sense of Whanaugatanga as we plan for individual children.
Children are respected, cared for and supported in their learning.
